hand stripping

dogs up to 20kg

Medium wired-coat breeds — Airedale Terriers, Standard Schnauzers, Lakeland Terriers, Wire-haired Pointing Griffons — have coats designed to be hand stripped, not clipped. Hand stripping removes the dead outer coat by hand, maintaining the coat's natural texture and density and keeping the skin and follicles healthy.

At this size, hand stripping is a significant time commitment, but the results — a proper, hard wire coat with its natural colouring and texture — are well worth it for breeds where coat quality matters. We work carefully and without rushing.

Your dog stays with us for free all day. Drop them off and work from our café in Alvalade, or add pick-up and drop-off when you book.
